In February 2026, the editorial department of Robot Industry jointly with the editorial department of Artificial Intelligence released the "Survey Report on the Development Status and Trends of the Embodied Intelligence Industry (2025)". Centering on theoretical origins, industry chain landscape, business models, and typical cases, it provided a "panoramic scan" of China's embodied intelligence industry. In 2026, the industry is entering a new phase of development—moving from point‑based pilot projects to full‑scene penetration, and from technology demonstration to value realization.
In recent years, China's embodied intelligence industry has developed rapidly under the combined drive of policy, capital, technology, and applications. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has clearly put forward the strategic deployment of "using humanoid robots as a small entry point to leverage the larger embodied intelligence industry." Documents such as the "Implementation Opinions on the 'AI + Manufacturing' Special Action" and the "Guidelines for the Construction of a Comprehensive Standardization System for Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligence" have been issued successively.
While the industry is growing rapidly, it also faces several development challenges: at the technical level, some core components and key algorithms still lag behind international leading levels, and mass‑production costs and reliability need further optimization; at the application level, contradictions such as "advanced technology but difficult deployment," "existing scenarios but unclear commercialization paths," and "missing standards but urgent scene requirements" are relatively prominent; at the ecosystem level, the efficiency of collaboration across the upstream and downstream industry chain needs improvement, and cross‑scenario, cross‑industry standardization systems still need to be established. All these issues require responses through in‑depth and systematic industrial surveys.
To this end, the editorial department of Robot Industry, in collaboration with the editorial department of Artificial Intelligence, plans to jointly organize the "2026 Embodied Intelligence Scene Application Survey Action" (hereinafter referred to as the "Action") in 2026. Focusing on the core theme of scene deployment, the Action will conduct systematic surveys of representative enterprises across the industry chain and produce influential and practically actionable survey results.
Action Highlights
1. Scene‑Oriented. The Action takes "scene deployment" as its entry point, covering key tracks such as industrial production, home services, healthcare and elderly care, special operations, and urban services. It will go deep into enterprise production sites, hospitals, nursing homes, municipal service sites, and special application frontline locations, providing the industry with actionable references.
2. Co‑Creation Participation. The Action plans to invite relevant organizations to participate in key stages such as survey planning and case screening. The survey will focus on technological advantages, deployment experience, and practical needs, investigating real operational data and typical cases, and sorting out replicable and scalable practical experiences.
3. Diverse Outcomes. The Action's results are planned to be structured around "industry reports + special seminars + case libraries + enabling services," building a platform for cooperation and exchange among industry, academia, research, and application.

1. Embodied Intelligence R&D Units, covering key components, large models, multimodal perception, autonomous decision‑making, and other fields.
2. Complete‑Machine Manufacturers, covering humanoid robots, quadruped robots, collaborative robots, service robots, special‑purpose robots, and other categories.
3. Scene Application Units, covering industrial manufacturing, healthcare and elderly care, home services, special operations, urban services (parks, security, municipal, commercial), agricultural production, and other fields.
4. Supporting Service Units, including logistics and warehousing, testing and certification, technical training, investment and financing institutions, intellectual property services, etc.
Survey Methods
1. Questionnaire Survey: Design questionnaires covering multiple dimensions such as technological innovation, market applications, industrial ecology, and policy environment, distribute them to participating units, and collect baseline data and core opinions.
